We are always on the look-out for good information. There are several governmental and non-profit organizations that produce brochures, booklets, CD-Roms and more that don't get the distribution they should. We've started a list here. If you'd like to make a recommendation, please let us know. If you order any of these, please let them know you saw it at NaturallyCurious.com. Facts About Texas Water and Simple Steps to Appreciate, Conserve and Protect Our Most Valuable Resource. This booklet is part of the Texas Living Waters Project, and was distributed to elementary school students in the Houston Area. The basic facts on water and water use make it valuable outside of Texas, and can serve as a spring board for teachers who can ask their students to compare and contrast local water issues to the ones presented in the booklet. This booklet is currently out of stock, but you can reserve a copy by contacting the Lone Star Chapter Sierra Club, 512-477-1729, or email lonestar.chapter@sierraclub.org. Their second publication, Facts About Your Water Supply is available in PDF through their website: www.texas.sierraclub.org/press/facts2.asp. They have it divided into three sections, so you can get the entire booklet, or just the sections that interest you. Kerr Wildlife Management Area This CD-Rom contains management and research information gained through years of scientific research conducted on the Kerr WMA. See Kerr WMA Intro Page Family Walk on the Wild Side Day Activity Book. This booklet is designed for students who have been on a great field trip to a park or other natural area, and would like to have a similar experience with their families. It provides basic information on how to take a family on nature walks, even if you don't know the name of a single flower or bird. Available in two versions, one that is generic to Texas, and another that lists places in the Houston area families can go. Order from Texas Committee on Natural Resource (TCONR) at tconr@texas.net. Be sure to specify which version you'd like! They would appreciate a donation of $1.00 per booklet to cover postage.
