New layout and icons make it simple

This is what the top of the eField Guide looks like.

The Menu Bar is at the very top. Click any word to expand the
list.
Click Edit and then "Filter" to filter by state or by family or to turn off the
filter.
Click Tools and then "Options" to change languages or show aliases.
Click Windows and then "New Tab" to display additional birds.
Click Help and then "Contents" for the online Help file.

The Six Main Sections of this program each have their
own blue icon.
For Windows programs, a seventh icon is also shown - Petey the Parrot.

The Species Selection Section lets you find a bird. The name
appears in the tab.
You may have more than one tab open at a time (Click Window in the Menu Bar).
Type in the bird's name on the left or click the drop-down arrow for a list.
Scroll up and down the list and then click on the bird's name.
Click the Funnel icon to Filter by state or by family.
Display the name four different ways. Then select Alphabetical or Taxonomic to
sort the list.
The blue arrows on the right let you jump to the previous or next bird on the
list.

Icons related to the species being displayed are grouped together.
Yellow icons let you zoom, compare, access The Birder's Handbook
species account and print.
Purple icons display one bird, five similar birds or all birds from the family.
When you are using the program, you can rest
your cursor over an icon to see a pop-up description of the icon.
